Compassionate pet care on the ridge.

Please take a moment to review our hospital policies

New Client Process:

We are by appointment only, and are scheduling new clients at our discretion. Due to an increased number of requests to schedule new clients, and the small size of our facility we are requiring complete medical records from previous veterinarians for each pet, for review prior to scheduling any appointments. Once records have been obtained and reviewed you will receive a call to schedule your introductory appointment, this process could take anywhere from 5-10 business days. We wish to provide the very best medical care for your pet, but in some cases upon review, we may find that we are not a good fit for your animal's medical needs, in this case we would not be scheduling any appointments.

Booking your first appointment will require a $65 non-refundable booking fee that will be applied to the first exam at check out. If for any reason you are unable to make it to this first appointment we do require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment (please refer to No Show Policy).

In order for us to get to know you, and your furry family members, we do ask that you only schedule one pet for this introductory appointment so that adequate time is available for us to become familiar with you and your pet.

No Show Policy:

Unfortunately due to increasing numbers of missed appointments we have implemented a No Show policy to better guarantee that our schedule remains booked to accommodate the high call volume for pets in need of care. No showing for an appointment hurts the community in general by reducing the availability of medical appointments offered to people that have pets that may be ill or dying.

If you, for any reason cannot make it to your scheduled appointment please call to cancel or reschedule 24 hours prior to your appointment so that efforts can be made to reach out to our clients with sick pets on our waiting list. Failure to contact our office within the specified time frame will result in a No-Show charge, $30/appointment or $75/surgery, being applied to your account. This fee must be paid prior to booking any future appointments, and in some cases pre-payment for the appointment may be required.

Annual exams:

Dr. Bremner looks forward to seeing each and every one of her patients every year for their annual wellness exam. These appointments are required once yearly in order for us to provide technician appointments for things such as nail trims, vaccines, microchipping etc., or to provide prescription refills for any medications your dog or cat may need throughout the year. At these appointments Dr. Bremner will do a complete physical exam, we will update any vaccines due, complete any annual testing such as heartworm or fecal tests for parasites, deworming if needed and address any concerns found during this exam such as the need for dental care, spaying or neutering, radiological assessment etc. and book any follow up appointments needed.

Prescription medications:

Veterinarians must follow strict guidelines laid down by the DEA with regards to animal prescriptions. As stated by law, a veterinarian must have an established doctor patient/client relationship. As stated above, this means that in order for any medications to be prescribed that our doctor must have seen the pet for an exam for the described concern at least once yearly. If we suspect that medications from our facility are being used inappropriately we reserve the right to terminate our doctor/client relationship, and in some cases we may be required to notify the proper authorities. We are required to confirm that all clients are over the age of 18 if any medications are prescribed during an appointment or following surgery, and cannot release prescriptions to persons under the legal age of 18 years.

Social Media Policy

Magalia Pet Hospital will never post photos or share information of any kind without written consent to do so. We strive to respect our clients rights in regards to posting on social media. Although many of our clients are happy to see their pet's photos on line, there are times when others would consider that inappropriate. All social media posts are approved by Dr. Bremner prior to posting once consent has been granted. Unfortunately there are times when a client is displeased with our service, and we ask that in that instance the hospital be notified so that we can better assist the client with their needs. If for some reason we are unable to do so, we ask that clients do not post vague and disparaging comments on social media. Doing so may be cause for dismissal from our care, and medical records will be sent to a new hospital of the client's choosing.
