Surgical care at Magalia Pet Hospital

When your pet needs surgery, you need a practice that can administer both gentle and effective treatment to your beloved companion. From routine procedures, such as spaying or neutering, to more advanced or emergency operations, many owners face this situation over the course of their pet's lives. Our staff at Magalia Pet Hospital is trained to give your pet the care and compassion they need to not only successfully make it through the operation but to lead a healthier and happier life when they return from our facility. If for some reason your pet requires a specialty surgery, we have much experience with referrals to our local specialty centers for such needs.

We do everything in our power to streamline your check-in experience so that all estimates and consent forms are quick and easy to complete. Once your pet has been admitted for his/her procedure, lab work and pre-surgical exams are completed in a timely manner. Our resources not only help our staff feel supported, but they also help your pet feel more comfortable in an unfamiliar place.

You can expect our staff's complete attention when your pet is in the treatment room. Veterinary surgery often requires multiple professionals working together, which is why we make sure your pet's blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature are stable and healthy while they are supported with IV fluids, oxygen and anesthetic gas. All surgical patients are constantly monitored by a trained technician or assistant in addition to the doctor. Our team works together to communicate any potential anomalies that may compromise the efficacy of the surgery. We've found this strategy to be the best possible way to ensure favorable outcomes.

It's Magalia Pet Hospital’s goal to give you all the advice you need to properly care for your pet from the moment they come home from the surgery. Our in-person discharge process with our technician assures that you have written instructions for post surgical care of your loved one, and a chance to ask any questions you may have. Taking an all-around approach to surgical care is the best path to achieving better pet health, and we want our clients to feel empowered to help their pet recover from surgery with our instruction.

*Magalia Pet Hospital does not do cosmetic surgical procedures such as declawing, ear cropping, debarking etc.
